Alfie's Market

Sitting just north of Marble Arch on Church Street in Marylebone, is one of the largest antique arcades in the UK.  The building is described as Egyptian style art deco, and inside can be found a treasure trove of over 100 20th century bohemian boutiques, full to bursting with retro goods, modernist furniture and decorative arts.

Established in 1976 by Bennie Gray, who saw an opportunity for the disused building to be converted into units when he saw that it was being vandalised and left to rot.  The business has thrived ever since and is now a magnet for visitors from around the world, who come to soak up the bohemian chic atmosphere.

Prices can be a little steep, but the thrill of finding that special treasure and the pleasure of a day well spent perusing an assortment of 20th centuries antiques will make it well worth the effort.

The huge collection of modernist furniture, decorative arts and accessories for every room of your home can be found across four floors through a rambling network of sellers, all immensely knowledgeable and ready to  bargain.
